Different methods of execution have already existed since the ancients time. Most of which are usually carried out by priests or people of high authority in the name of god. These punishments are used to counter the act of defiance and used on a person to scare the rest into submission.

Nowadays, although many country preach democracy and human rights, death penatly are still carried out in many of them. This remains as a controversial issue worldwide. In conclusion, many believe that life in given by god, therefore, only god can claim one's life. However, i feel that the death penalty is actually trying to stop murder by murdering. This is like the United States trying to stop war between Iraq and Kuwait by starting a war with Iraq. How can we teach the convicts not to kill by killing them and convey the message that a possible solution to a problem is to kill?

Therefore, the death penalty should be abolished as it would not solve the problem and instead might cause more defiance and unhappiness amongst the people.
